México y Sus Tradiciones

We're very excited! Saturday is the BIG day for an exhibit of classic dresses from each state in Mexico at our store/building. We'll have an official from the Mexican Consulate in Kansas City on hand. Several local officials will participate in an opening ceremony, then the public is invited to view the dresses from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

We believe this is a great opportunity to share a taste of Mexican culture with our American friends, plus a great opportunity for our Mexican friends to learn a little more about their own country. We hope to hear lots of English and Spanish intermingled throughout the day. Some of the Hispanic business owners will be on hand to introduce their businesses, and we are sure they will be only too happy to mingle with our American guests and answer questions about some of the customs and culture of Mexico.

Come on by and see us in the Kress Building at 134 S. Santa Fe, this Saturday, September 26. And enjoy the Street Fair while you're downtown!

Welcome to ETC

At ETC, we are all about new adventures, so here we begin our adventure with our first blog. Our blog will be a little different because two of us will be contributing to the blog, Lucy in Spanish and Bret in English. Unless we feel what we have to say is so important that we translate each other's blogs. Since you are reading this in English, obviously it's Bret contributing.

Anyway, I'll get on with a little more introduction to ETC. We opened our Salina boutique about a year ago at 1414 S. Santa Fe in Salina, Kansas. We opened a second boutique in February 2009 in the Sunflower Hotel at 409 NW Third in Abilene, Kansas. Now, we are excited to share with you that we have moved the Salina store to 134 S. Santa Fe Suite 120 in downtown. We are in the Kress Building and are absolutely thrilled with our new location. "I feel like I'm in New York," is the comment we hear most from our visitors. And we LOVE to hear that.

Our boutique's philosophy is to bring in a few designers we like, who let us carry few pieces. We want our customers to know when they walk out with a new dress or a new purse that they won't see anyone else on the streets with that same look. But don't think that means you have to pay New York boutique prices. NO! We work hard to find the right designers to offer Kansas prices. ETC is not an exclusive place, but we want our customers to feel like they are exclusive while they are here.

We know you are beautiful. At ETC, you will find fashion that makes you know you are beautiful, too!
